Harsha Samrudha

Harsha Samrudha was born in Chikkaballapur and brought up in Bengaluru. His father, Shri Raghavendra Rao, was the founder of the Rashtrothana Printing Press. Following in his father’s footsteps, Shri Harsha took over and led his own printing press, Samrudha offset Printers, after his father’s demise.

In 2009, he established a publishing house called Samrudha Sahitya. For the past 16 years, he has been continuously publishing value-based works in the field of publishing. So far, he has published more than 100 Kannada books. It is noteworthy that most of the published works have gone into reprint

Harsha Samrudha, who has been publishing books by renowned writers of the state, has, since 2018, focused exclusively on publishing ideological literature, nationalist literature, and the works of Veer Savarkar in Kannada. If there is a strong wave of interest in Savarkar across Karnataka today, it can be attributed to the publication of Savarkar’s works in Kannada.

In addition to being a publisher, he is also an author and has written more than five books so far. His works primarily focus on national thought, patriotism, and spirituality. Having conducted an in-depth study of the life and works of Swatantryaveer Savarkar, he, along with Dr. G. B. Harisha and Dr. S. R. Leela, founded an organization called the Savarkar Sahitya Sangha.

• He wrote articles on Kempegowda (founder of Bangalore) on the occasion of the installation of Kempegowda’s statue at the international airport.

• In response to the allegations made against Savarkar, he has strongly presented his views and argued his case on several private television channels, effectively reaching the public.
• He remains active on YouTube channels, various digital platforms, and discussion forums, participating in debates and discussions on the above subjects. At present, he is traveling across the state, focusing on Savarkar literature and publishing Savarkar’s works in Kannada.
• He has delivered more than 50 lectures on personality development at various schools and colleges to date.

Awards

• In 2019, he was honored as “Best Publisher” by the R. Bendre Geleyara Balaga.
• In 2023, the Uluchukamme Brahmin Mahasabha recognized his service to literature and honored him with the title “Sahitya Sevaka” (Literary Servant).
• In 2025, he received the “Best Cover Design” award from the Pranita Academy.
• In 2025 December THE ACHIEVERS COUNCIL AWARD ACADEMY awarded “Honorary Doctorate” by Delhi THE ACHIEVERS COUNCIL AWARD ACADEMY
• He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the National Book Trust (Karnataka Region). For 5 years.

Guidance & Mentorship

• On social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook, he conducted daily programs titled “Savarkar Nitya” and “Savarkar Satya,” in which he shared thoughts and perspectives on Savarkar continuously for 80 days.
• For 100 consecutive days, he shared a wide range of insights every day about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
• In addition, he produced numerous videos on several important books, encouraging and motivating readers to develop a habit of reading.
• To promote and support new writers, he organized writers’ workshops, guided participating students, inspired them to write books, and subsequently published those books.

Special Achievements

• He has organized more than 70 book release ceremonies to date and has honored many writers and eminent personalities across the state.
• He organizes poetry gatherings, panel discussions, and uniquely designed book release events.
• His published work on Hindutva has sold over 30,000 copies, creating a new milestone in Kannada ideological literature.
• In 2014, in Delhi, a book on Narendra Modi was released by Shri Arun Jaitley and Shri Rajnath Singh.
• He initiated the “Bharatiya Sena Sahitya” (Indian Military Literature) series and published books related to the armed forces. This can be considered the first series of its kind in Karnataka focused exclusively on military literature.
• Additionally, it is noteworthy that most of the nationalistic works he has published have seen multiple reprints.

Book store               

• Based on many years of experience first as a printer and later as a publisher, Harsha Samrudha has launched an innovative bookstore called “Book Samskruthi” with the aim of taking Kannada books to a wider audience. At a time when it is often said that the number of readers is declining, he is actively engaged in inspiring people to read more Kannada books.
• Harsha Samrudha firmly believes that a book is not merely a service, but an industry—an industry that provides livelihoods to many. With this perspective, he has delivered in-depth talks of over an hour at national book forums on the subject of books as an industry, shedding light on opportunities in the book trade and motivating young people to enter the publishing and bookselling business. As a result of his efforts, many young people across the state have shown enthusiasm for opening new bookstores.
